The three-week “Work Certified” is a national employer-driven program, and
you’ll be exposed to areas of work readiness that
employers have said are important to them. Successful completion of the
modules earns you a National Work Certified ID card that
could prove the difference between who is hired, and who isn’t.
Here’s what employers want, and what you’ll improve in:
Reading Comprehension; Business Technology; Business Math; Pre-Employment
Readiness; Business Communications; Customer Service; Employment
Expectations; Mastering Career Success;
and General Business Knowledge.
*To participate in the Work Certified program, you must
be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or a GED
certificate, be enrolled in CareerLink with a Participant ID number (can be
accomplished at www.cwds.state.pa.us), and have a current resume on
CareerLink.
You must also attend a pre-assessment meeting to
verify your eligibility for the free program. The pre-assessment meeting can
be attended at either of the following times: Wednesday, Sept. 1 from
10 a.m. to noon; or Thursday, Sept. 2 from 1-3 p.m.
