 “Word Level III”

"Word Level III" is a 9-hour program providing detailed word processing and desktop publishing skills, using Microsoft Word. Prerequisites include a basic understanding of computer operations and mouse manipulation as provided in “Intro to Computers”; a working knowledge of the computer operating system as provided in “Windows Level I”; and successful completion of "Word Level I & II."

Course Content:

  • Understanding linking and embedding, sharing information;

  • Planning a web site, create a simple web page, add graphics, apply themes and styles, inset and edit hyperlinks;

  • Using Mail Merge, create main document and data source, enter, edit and sort records, insert merge fields, perform mail merge;

  • Create and print labels;

  • Footnotes, endnotes, comments;

  • Create an Index, Table of Contents;

  • Creating and Applying Character Styles;

  • Using AutoFormat and the Style Gallery;

  • Modifying Styles and Applying New Styles;

  • Creating your own toolbars and customizing Word;

Students who complete all the scheduled hours of the class will receive a certificate of completion from the Corry Higher Education Council.
