Windows
Level III is a 9-hour course building on knowledge gained in the Windows Level
One and Two courses. It further enhances the student’s understanding of the
Windows operating system by providing a deeper level of exploration. Prerequisites
include: an intermediate understanding of the Windows Operating System as
provided in both Windows Levels I & II.
Course Content:

Maintaining
your computer hardware: description, function and upgrading, using the
“Add New Hardware Wizard” in the Control Panel, “Plug and Play”
versus “Legacy” Hardware, IRQ Settings, Using the System--Device Manager
in the control panel;

Using
Winzip® to compress and uncompress files (make files smaller for
faster sending over the Internet);

Using
the “Drivespace” disk compression system tool to compress and uncompress
a disk (squeezes more files onto your drives);

Using
the Drive Converter system tool for a faster, more efficient storage method
for your files;

Using
System Monitor and Resource Meter system tools to monitor your system’s
performance and observe it’s efficiency;

Setting
up multiple users on your system, setting passwords, changing settings for
each user including desktop settings, start menu, favorites, my documents
(so each family member can have their own desktop space).
