Windows is a 9-hour foundation course providing a working knowledge
of the computer's “operating system” on which Windows-based software
runs. Prerequisites include a basic understanding of computer operations and
mouse manipulation as provided in “Intro to Computers.” Successful
completion
of Windows, or equivalent knowledge, is required before taking such
Windows-based courses as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher,
QuickBooks, or PhotoShop.
Course Content:

Different ways to use the mouse;

Starting a program;

Using menus, toolbars, dialogue boxes, scroll bars and Help;

Shutting down Windows correctly;

Understanding file management (i.e. “how not to get lost;” or
avoiding “where’s that file?”), Using
"Save" & "Save As";

Viewing files and creating folders with My Computer and Windows
explorer;
