A survey of the major areas of psychology including abnormal, social, and

are no prerequisites for this course. This course is required for RN and PTA

Introduction to Medical Terminology

Mondays 6-8:45 p.m.
Basic study of the professional language of medicine, including word
construction, pronunciation, spelling, definition, and the use of terms from
all areas of medical science and hospital service. Highly recommended for RN
and PTA majors; required for Medical Insurance Coding Specialist Certificate
and Medical Office Support Professional Certificate. |

Workshop
in Composition

This course is designed for students who need to develop college writing
skills. The course involves frequent writing aimed at developing
college-level composition skills and includes reviews of grammar,
punctuation, and syntax. Recommended for RN and PTA majors, although option
available to “test out” of this course. |
Introduction to Human Systems
(BIOSC 0096)

Introduces the general principles of human structure and function to
students who intend to enter the health-related professions. The study
begins at the cellular level and proceeds through tissues to organ systems.
Corequisite: BIOSC 0097. This course is highly recommended for RN and PTA
majors, and required for Medical Insurance Coding and Medical Office
Certificates. |

Laboratory exercises designed to illustrate the principles of human
