“Internet Level II”
nternet Level II is a 6-hour program providing intermediate-level skills in using
and searching the Internet
. Prerequisites include a basic understanding of
computer operations and mouse manipulation as provided in “Intro to Computers”;
and a basic understanding of using and searching the Internet as provided
in “Internet & E-mail Level I.”

Course Content:

  • Review types of downloads and practicing downloads;

  • Review “virus checkers” and learn how to keep the virus checker updated;

  • Tools and add-ons necessary to successfully “cruise” the Internet;

  • Locate fonts, screen savers and wallpaper on the Internet and install them correctly;

  • Navigating Web Rings;

  • Dealing with “Urban Legends,” hoaxes and chain letters;

  • Discover new Search Engines;

  • Experience sights and sounds available on the Internet with webcams, MP3 files, and virtual reality;

  • Expand the use and scope of e-mail and newsgroups;

  • Chat on-line with others and discuss various chatting programs.

Students who complete all the scheduled hours of the class will receive a certificate of completion from the Corry Higher Education Council.
