Access is a 12-hour program providing
basic skills in creating and utilizing databases, using Access . Prerequisites include a basic understanding of computer operations and
mouse manipulation as provided in “Intro to Computers”; a working knowledge
of the computer operating system as provided in “Windows Level I”; and a
working knowledge of spreadsheets as provided in “Excel Level I & II.
Course Content:

Navigating the screen, getting help, viewing operating modes (design
view/normal view), and object properties;

Create a database file;

Table design, table wizard, design a table, enter and delete data,
format the
data sheet, filter and sort tables;

Data validation, edit field attributes, set the value limits, use
the default values, create a required field, change format properties and use
input masks;

Form design, explore forms, form wizard, designed a form, modify
display attributes, modify form controls, change tab order, and use calculated
fields;

Queries, create a select query, sort data, using multiple
criteria, create a calculation query, use an action query, use a query wizard
and create a perimeter query;

Importing and exporting data, export to Excel, import from Excel,
export to a text file and import a text file;

Data relations, using his analyzing tools, normalize data,
establish a simple relations, create complex relational data base, use the
relationships window and explore preferential integrity;

Report creation, using a report wizard, lay out a report, modified
display attributes, using calculated fields, print our report and create mailing
labels.
