The Corry Higher Education Council, in
cooperation with Penn State Cooperative Extension, is providing an
opportunity for those in local government and local service agencies to
expand their knowledge and abilities in the grant writing process. This
6-hour, 50% lecture/50 % hands-on workshop will focus on helping
agencies find new resources, how to use available resources to their best
advantage and what is needed to strategize for the future. Obtaining grants
is a process, and this workshop helps break that process down into workable
strategies that help assure a more successful outcome. Instructor: Walt
Whitmer serves as an Extension Associate with Penn State Cooperative
Extension responsible for providing statewide educational programs in the
area of Community and Economic Decision-Making, and as Associate Director
for economic and entrepreneurial development, community and organizational
strategic planning, leadership, grantsmanship and facilitation. He holds and
M.S. in rural Sociology and Demography and a B.S. in Agricultural Economics,
